Bio:
Sylvester I. Williams served in the Nigeria Air Force diligently for closed to 25 years and voluntarily retired with the colours in January 2004. Between January 1999 and January 2004, he served as Personal Assistant to Defence Attache and Security Officer to Nigerian Mission, 1333 16th Street, Washington DC, USA. On return to Nigeria, he voluntarily retired from the services of the military and joined Halogen Security Company, GRA, Ikeja, as Head of Protocol and later ServTrust/Prudential Guards Limited, a first-line techno-age security group in Ikota, Lagos as Operations Manager & Security Coordinator where he carved a niche as a guard force administrator in the Diplomatic Sector.
He also was hired by ExxonMobil and sent to Switzerland on Maritime & Rig Security Operations Course from where he was deployed as Maritime Security Officer to GSF Magellan Rig (Transocean Support Services) and on Noble Ed Noble Rig (Noble Drilling Services Limited) global oil/gas drilling services companies contracting for ExxonMobil. He also served as the Security Manager for Delta Steel Company (In Receivership), a position he held between May 2012 and December 2012 before it was closed down by the Federal Government. Mr. Williams holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Calabar and Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos.
He has attended many courses and seminars/workshops including a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from American University, Washington DC, USA, Advanced Technology Certificate for Senior Secretaries, University of Lagos Consult, Certificate in Safety Practice/Management from Armed Forces Resettlement and Rehabilitation Center, Lagos, Certificate in Foreign Visits from Office of the Under-Secretary for Defense, Washington DC.
